In the second production process from cyclohexane, cyclohexane reacts with nitrosyl chloride to produce azepan-2-one as the final product. Thirdly, in the production process of benzene, benzene is first hydrogenated to produce cyclohexane, which is further oxidised to form a mixture of cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone. Then, the dehydrogenation of the produced cyclohexanol into cyclohexanone takes place, and thus, the cyclohexanone produced undergoes an oximation reaction using hydroxylamine to form oxime. Finally, the rearrangement of oxime results in the formation of azepan-2-one. In the fourth production process from butadiene, the first butadiene and hydrogen cyanide react to form a product. Then, isomerisation and hydrogenation of the product formed to take place to form a mixture of HMDA and adiponitrile, which finally reacts with water to produce azepan-2-one. In the fifth production process from butadiene using carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and ammonia, hydrocarbonylation of the product obtained from the reaction of carbon monoxide with butadiene takes place. After the former process, subsequent amination and cyclization take place to finally produce azepan-2-one. In the sixth production process from phenol, hydrogenation of phenol to cyclohexanone takes place, followed by an oximation reaction using hydroxylamine to form oxime. The oxime produced is rearranged to finally obtain azepan-2-one as the product. In the seventh production process from toluene, toluene is first oxidised to form benzoic acid, which is then hydrogenated to hexahydrobenzoic acid. The hexahydrobenzoic acid produced is finally converted to azepan-2-one.
